Book - A Strange Man.

A Strange Man by Boris Akunin is the fifth book, in the counter-intelligence series. Unexciting, uninspired, boring, and overall a waste of my time.

Book - Children of the Moon.

The fourth book in the series started by Child and Devil. Unimpressive. Akunin is not particularly good at this short story / novella genre.

This is me. Relaxing at home. Among the people I love the most.

Kitteh.

Apparently I never posted any pictures of my new cat. She is not so new now, but I somehow neglected to photograph her before. Well, today she managed to climb on top of my book shelf, and I just happened to have a camera nearby.

Here is Kitteh hunting comrade Stalin.

Here is Kitteh looking at you.

Book - Coming of Age in Samoa.

I just finished reading Coming of Age in Samoa by Margaret Mead. She was an anthropologist studying the life in Samoa in the beginning of the 20th century. The focus of this book is on the adolescent girls, as well as general practices of the Samoan society.

Book - The Flying Elephant.

I read The Flying Elephant by Boris Akunin. It is the third part a series started by Child and Devil. Whereas the first two were novellas, this is closer to a short story in length. It was more entertaining than the preceding ones though.

Book - All the World's a Stage.

I read All the World's a Stage by Boris Akunin. It is number thirteen in the Erast Fandorin series, and I felt that it was lacking the excitement, intrigue and high polish of the former titles. It cannot possibly be compared to something like The Turkish Gambit, or Death of Achilles.

Book - Agony of a Broken Heart.

I read Agony of a Broken Heart by Boris Akunin. It is the second novella in a series started by Child and Devil. It is also equally mediocre.

Book - Child and Devil.

I read Child and Devil by Boris Akunin. It's fairly short, so more like a novella as opposed to a full blown novel. Overall I wasn't too impressed.

Guards! Guards!

Last night I went to the city (Chicago) to hang out with a friend. We walked along the Lake Shore Drive Trail for about two hours...

I have never seen so much police. There were at least a dozen squad cars, a couple of cops on ATVs, and a helicopter with a projector going back and forth for the duration of our walk. I mean right there on the beach and the bicycle path. There were easily as many policemen as there were normal people.

What. The. Fuck.

The nasty, thieving puke - mayor Daley, instead of letting the citizens defend themselves, is wasting untold amounts of money on breeding useless busy-bodies.

I can't wait to get out of this place. Crook County, Hellinois is not for me.
