Sheer raghead audacity.

Wow. I guess I am one of those easily amazed people. I just can't help it, but discover new horizons every so often.

Remember a group of Muslims that got removed from some plane a year ago, because their behavior alarmed both passengers and crew?

Well it is old news that they are suing the airline.

Today, however, I discovered that they are also suing the passengers.

Report suspicious activity and get dragged into court. WTF?! What's next? Report an arsonist and get a few years of hard labor? I am at a loss for words.

LotRO beta - forums - fanbois.

Posted on March 30, 2007 at 12:06 pm.

I signed up for LotRO open beta. It starts today for those who pre-ordered the game and on the 6th for the rest of us.

I also went to check out their forums and asked a few questions about the game. I asked for a comparison between LotRO and WoW...

This is when I got flamed hardcore. There are more unstable and mean spirited fanbois on that forum than I have ever seen in one place. I thought WoW forums were bad, but was I ever so wrong!

At the same time they claim that LotRO has more mature people than WoW. I don't know... after seeing the maturity first hand I am kinda glad I didn't pre-order. I will have to take a hard look at this game before signing up for anything.

Movie - The Usual Suspects.

Posted on March 29, 2007 at 10:25 am.

Last night I saw the Usual Suspects for the first time. It's a brilliant movie and I enjoyed it a lot!

About 1/2 in, I had a pretty good idea of what is going on, and about 2/3 in I told my theory to a friend who has seen the movie before. Turns out I was correct. =)

McCain pwned. Funny.

Posted on March 28, 2007 at 10:02 am.

So John McCain decided that he needs a MySpace page to connect with younger voters.

Ok... whatever.

Now, whoever was tasked with setting up that page was a dumbass though. They used a design template made by some guy, but didn't credit the guy even though he requested it. The guy didn't care too much at first.

But then he learned that they even used images from his site and therefore stole his bandwidth. So he substituted one image for another and for a while McCain's page had the following message:

"Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay marriage... particularly marriage between two passionate females."

Ha-ha!

The link to the guy's blog is here. He's got the whole story and some screenshots there. Check it out.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - giving it a shot.

Posted on March 27, 2007 at 9:29 pm.

Below is a post I made on a forum I sometimes visit:

I believe that any game made by Russians sucks. I base this opinion on many years of experience and many games played. More so, my opinion is validated by a number of people who work in the Russian gaming industry, with whom I had lengthy conversations on the topic.

The reasons for this are many and are generally outside of the scope of this post.

However, after much consideration and after reading many reviews and discussions, I have decided to give S.T.A.L.K.E.R. a try. (I know, I know, this one is made by Ukranians. Believe it or not, the two peoples are pretty much the same.)

First of all, I'd love to be proven wrong. Nobody is going to be happier than me if Russians suddenly start making good games. They usually have brilliant ideas and often their games are based on books that I love.

Secondly, I am not above giving them the benefit of the doubt. This time specifically, I am more inclined to do that because of the abundance of more or less positive reviews and impressions.

To this end I have asked an acquaintance to bring me a copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. from Russia. (Thanks, Ivan, you are the man!) I figured that since it was originally conceptualized and made in Russian,(and based on a great book by brilliant authors), I am better off playing it that way. Who knows what got lost in translation.

I am going to approach this with an open mind and try to see the game for what it is. I will do my best to judge it on its own merit even if I find that it is not my cup of tea.

Thank you, that will be all.

Book - Day of the Dragon.

Posted on March 27, 2007 at 4:18 pm.

I just finished reading Day of the Dragon by Vadim Panov. It is a pretty good book, I really enjoyed it. Aside from the fun Secret City setting, it offered some things to think about, which is one of the main reasons for picking up a book in the first place.

Last Chaos.

Posted on March 27, 2007 at 8:16 am.

Last chaos is a free MMORPG. I gave it a shot and found it to be pretty crummy. Obviously you get what you pay for.

With that being said, my hat is off to the people who made it. Even though I can't fully appreciate the amount of hard work and creativity that went into making the game, I have somewhat of an understanding and I appreciate the effort on the part of those people.

It's not every day that someone busts their ass to even try to bring out a free game for others to play. If you'd like to see their site at www.lastchaos-usa.com.

I finished reading Illusions by Max Fray today. It is pretty much in line with other books of the series.

Silverfall demo.

Posted on March 25, 2007 at 1:05 am.

I tried Silverfall demo today.

It's a 1.4 Gb download and once you install it. It takes full 5 minutes to actually start the game.

I played for a little while and wasn't all that impressed. It is a Diablo clone and I'm not really a fan of the genre, plus it didn't look too good.

Movie - TMNT.

Posted on March 24, 2007 at 10:27 pm.

Just came back from seeing TMNT and it was lots of fun! Some good animation, a few funny moments and no hypocritical preaching make for a pretty good flick.

I'd take TMNT any day over an abortion that was 300.
