Fallout ... and stuff.

For the past few days I've been following a thread on one of the forums I visit, that talks about Fallout 3. For those of you who don't know, Fallout and Fallout 2 are old computer role-playing games (RPGs) set in a post apocalyptic continuity.

Fallout 3 is now in development by Bethesda and it upsets some people because ... blah, blah, blah. Other people are upset that these people are upset and so they argue over the Internet.

Today a friend sent me a link to a site that had this picture. I found it to be quite funny, and of course I posted it on that forum. =) Maybe people who were flaming each other there, will see the error of their ways. =)

Animals.

After looking through the news today, two reports caught my attention.

One is about a bunch of animal right activists who want to declare one Chimpanzee a person. (Link.)

Another is about a 17-year old Kurdish girl in Iraq. (Link.) Her name was Du'a Khalil Aswad, "a member of a minority Kurdish religious group called Yezidi, was condemned to death as an "honour killing" by other men in her family and hardline religious leaders because of her relationship with the Sunni Muslim boy.

"They said she had shamed herself and her family when she failed to return home one night. Some reports suggested she had converted to Islam to be closer to her boyfriend."

"In a short mobile video clip which appears to have been taken by locals at seen of the murder, the girl is seen being ambushed on her way home by a group of up to 1000 men who were waiting for her to return; the men killed her in the most brutal way possible, by throwing large stones on her head. The following clips show that while she is alive and crying for help she is taunted and kicked in her stomach until someone finishes her off by throwing a large stone on her face."

I would support the initiative to declare that ape to be a person, in exchange for declaring those whose cultures permit "honor killings" to be animals.

Below is the video of what happened. I am not posting it here for anybody's morbid entertainment. My goal is to show that those who belong to certain cultures are nothing but animals. There could never be a peaceful co-existence between their world and ours.

If you are one of the who advocate tolerance towards these animals, please know that your advocacy comes at a price. The video shows that price. Lucky for you, it is others (like this girl) who will bear its full weight.

Hundreds of men are waiting. The level of excitement is like a sporting event. The terrified teenager is brought into the crowd in a headlock as they whoop and cheer. Police officers are plainly taking part.

She can be heard screaming as she is pulled to the ground. Her lower body has been stripped. She rolls onto her back and tries to cover her body.

An enormous crowd surround her, jockeying for position. One man kicks her between her legs, lifting her body into the air and rolling her over as she howls in pain. They then recover her naked lower body.

She tries to lift herself up. It appears that someone throws a small boulder into her face knocking her back onto the ground. Her body convulses in agony. It seems as if a man is about to stamp on her face.

Many people surround her taking photographs of her. A man wearing black tries to lift her body but drops it.

A project I've been working on has gone live today.

It is a web site of the McCormic Tribune Fellows organization.

I was responsible for all the functionality, both front end and back end, while the graphics were done by my co-worker and a very talented designer David Sahlin.

Earth's climate is seesawing.

Here is an interesting article in the Scientific Daily.

The Swedish Research Council, has conducted a climate study and came up with some interesting conclusions.

Particularly refreshing is the fact that apparently not every climate studying scientist has taken the "global warming" dogma as their newfound religion.

NASA stole the Moon from Russia.

So, according to this article, good old Russia is accusing NASA of not wanting to do a joint Moon mission with them.

"The claim comes amid suspicion in Moscow that the United States is seeking to deny Russia access to an isotope in abundance under the moon's surface that many believe could replace fossil fuels and even end the threat of global warming."

Does anyone else smell paranoia?

Or maybe there is no paranoia, who knows. Maybe it is true. Evil America is trying to prevent the glorious Russian nation from getting the goodies.

Or maybe they just don't want to play with the Russians. That happens too. When I was little, I never wanted to play with kids who were dirty or rude or stupid.

Perhaps Russia thinks that there should be some kind of world-wide affirmative action program, where civilized nations would be forced to accept the non-civilized ones into the club.

Russia loses its war dead.

While most of the Russian hoi poloi were screaming their mouths off about the bad, viscous, mean Estonians, they managed to quietly "lose in transit" the remains of Russian war heroes buried at Khimki.

How did that happen? Well, they dug them up for reburial. Yes, what is not OK for Estonia to do is in fact OK for Russia to do. This is called hypocrisy, children!

Pay particular attention to the last 2 paragraphs. Perhaps Russia will now have to sever diplomatic relations with itself? Or maybe not. Maybe this is just another plot by public enemy number one, Berezovskiy.
