CTA - mockery and extortion.

Below rant is inspired by this post.
Any idiot can run his business into the ground. Even I could do that. In fact I don't have a business because I know I'll run in into the ground the first chance I get.
What I don't seem to quite grasp, is why the hell do these socialist scumbags at CTA feel like they are entitled to government funds?
"Yea, sorry I failed at everything I've ever done, now give me lots of money please."
Why is anyone even considering their "proposal"? It is an obvious mockery of everything that is good and logical. Why are these leeches not in prison for extortion and racketeering?
I need to get out of Crook County, Hellinois... I really do.

Book - The Prophet.

I read The Prophet by Dmitri Shildowski. It is an alternative history with elements of mysticism. He is mostly copying The Hammer and the Cross series by Harry Harrison and John Holm. Although there are a few clever snipes at certain realities of our life.
Overall it is lite reading, not very insightful yet entertaining.

I read Ringworld by Larry Niven. It is a pretty cool book as far as Sci-Fi goes. I understand that it was groundbreaking back when he first published it.

Approval ratings.

We've all heard that the approval ratings of President George W. Bush are kinda low. Well, guess what?
According to the latest Gallup Poll, the approval ratings of the US Congress are even lower.

So... umm... what's going on there? Are we finally beginning to realize what a bunch of retards we have elected into out House and Senate?
Bush may not be the best president ever, but this here situation illustrates my old point that a group is always worse than any individual.
A person MAY or MAY NOT be stupid, evil or corrupt. A group is ALWAYS stupid, ALWAYS evil and ALWAYS corrupt.

New car.

On Thursday Yara got into a collision. She got some cuts, bruises and burns, but overall didn't get injured. Her car on the other hand got pretty much totaled.
Yesterday I junked it and went on to buy a new one. Yara will drive my old car from now on, while I got myself a new Honda Civic EX.
Although it is not my ideal car by a long shot, I kinda liked the features, especially the gas mileage. The car is supposed to be pretty stable, have low depreciation and overall a good deal for $21K.
I guess here goes my $4K gaming computer. Oh well.
