Hard to get a job.
Posted on June 8, 2007 at 10:57 am.
This is a conversation I had with a friend this morning. Looks like getting a job is tough in all industries. Them illegal aliens are taking our jobs!
Friend: my bonsai plant came in
Me: You ordered one?
Friend: so my weekend will be dedicated to learning the art of bonsai
Friend: yep
Me: LOL, crazy!
Friend: from ebay
Friend: it was only 30 bucks shipped
Friend: with all the tools and a guide
Me: Cool. So by the time you die, it will be almost a fully developed tree.
Friend: it should be a fun process
Friend: i will pass it on to my children
Me: You have children?
Friend: future children
Me: Oh.
Friend: not counting the ones i rape and pillage
Me: You ... rape children?
Friend: and pillage them
Friend: like a real pirate
Me: Any profit in that line of work?
Friend: ransom
Me: But ... who'd ransom out a raped child? They are useless.
Friend: their parents
Me: Hmm. Is there a lot of competition? Suppose I wanted to give it a shot, who do I send my resume to?
Friend: what kind of experience do you have
Me: 4 years of baby-killer training, and a score of 626 on Hotlanta Kink Test.
Friend: any real-world experiencE?
Me: No, I am a recent graduate.
Friend: hard to find work for your kind
Friend: you'll need to take on some freelance work for a bit
Me: Are you sure there is no internship or anything?
Friend: i'll ask around

Who took RIAA's money?
A whole bunch of nasty pukes did. For example B. Obama and H. Clinton.
Or if you want to see the full list, you can find it here.

One car paid off, one to go.

Paid off my Chevy Cavalier today. That's the one Yara is driving ever since she totaled her old Nissan Altima. All I have to do now is make 60 payments of $400 for the new car.

Saw Spriggan a few days back. The beginning is kinda cool, but the last 1/3 is total BS.

Book - 40 years among robbers and murderers.

I read 40 Years Among Robbers and Murderers by Ivan Putilin.
Putilin was the head of the St. Petersburg's Police Investigations unit in the middle of the 19th century.

One of the most wired countries in the world has been under an unusually heavy cyber attacks of all times for many days now. Read more on it here.
This is following their removal of a Soviet monument. (I talked about it here.)
Everyone is saying that Russia is behind the attacks, but the Russians are of course denying it.
Now... there is this really old saying...
Qui bono?

Movie - Series of Unfortunate Events.
Posted on May 28, 2007 at 10:39 pm.
This is the second movie we saw while in Michigan.
As I understand, it is a children's book originally, and the story reflects that. As far as the visual quality, I happened to really enjoy it. There is a kind of dark, surreal quality to it. I even watches the credits at the end of the movie, because of the way they were made.
Overall I was pretty impressed.

Movie - Night at the Museum.

While in Michigan we rented Night at the Museum, which is nothing special, but not bad for a rainy day, when one does not want to engage brain under any circumstances.

Back from Michigan.
Posted on May 28, 2007 at 10:34 pm.
This 3-day weekend was a perfect opportunity to run away from it all. I rented a cottage on a lake shore in a small Michigan town and I didn't take my laptop with me. =)
The first day and a half it was raining so I had an excellent chance to catch up on some much needed sleep as well as Herodotus.
The second half was sunny and nice so we went for walks and did some boating on the lake.
Overall it was really nice, I should do it more often.
