Muslims throw a hissy fit.

Posted on June 18, 2007 at 2:05 pm.

But then again, is anyone truly surprised?

Is anyone ever surprised when they see Muslims burning some flag or other and chanting "death to this and death to that"?

This time they got their unsexy panties in a bunch over the knighting of Salman Rushdie, an author who wrote The Satanic Verses, a book that apparently is blasphemous and insults Islam.

Pakistani Religious Affairs Minister had the following to say on the topic, "If somebody has to attack by strapping bombs to his body to protect the honor of the Prophet, then it is justified."

The full article is here.

What a bunch of turds. Someone really ought to nuke them.

CPU blues.

Posted on June 17, 2007 at 8:37 pm.

I am ready to build my Legendary Gaming Rig (LGR). I have selected all the components (except an optical drive which I am still thinking about), but the CPU that I want is not out yet!

Imagine my plight.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3GHz 1333MHz 4MB is supposed to come out on either July 22 or June 22. Different sources say differently, but most seem to agree that it will be July.

I have to wait another month for my LGR!

O, cruel world!

Like the good old times.

Posted on June 16, 2007 at 10:35 am.

My sister is sleeping on the couch in my living room. We don't want to wake her up, so instead of talking, my wife and I are chatting over ICQ, while sitting in front of our computers in the same living room.

Just like the good old times.

David Arieti.

Posted on June 14, 2007 at 12:51 pm.

Biology professor David Arieti is terrible.

In a summer class, which is condensed into 8 weeks instead of a full semester, the professor's job is to explain the material as concisely and clearly as possible.

He comes to class totally unprepared, spends valuable time searching for things on Google and scrolling through humongous PowerPoint presentations in search of pictures.

He goes off on wild tangents. He talks about stuff and then casually utters that it is not a part of the class. He can't keep the line of thought for more than 6 minutes (I timed him). He wastes incredible amounts of time telling really bad jokes that even first-graders wouldn't laugh at.

Most of all, he spends about 50% of each class talking about his views on the environment. He hates everyone who owns a convertible, or a Hummer or any big or expensive car (he drives an old Geo Metro). He hates those who have expensive watches (he has a $5 plastic watch). He hates those who have more than 2 children (you guessed it, he has 2).

Last week he spent 20 minutes of class time, telling his students to e-mail the City of Chicago and join the fight for the CTA.

Yesterday he said, that the US should not have nuked Japan during WWII, because of the environmental impact. He also said that it doesn't matter that it reduced casualties. When I said, "You are right, fuck those marines, they should have died!", he muttered something about genetics being screwed up.

I have 6 more weeks of this and I can't drop the class. I would put up with all his stuff, but what really bothers me is that his lectures are incredibly disorganized and confusing. I have not had a "C" yet and this class feels like a disaster waiting to happen.

Happy for not being in Iran.

Posted on June 13, 2007 at 9:33 am.

I am happy that I am not in Iran.

Are you happy?

If for some reason you are not happy, read this.

If you are in fact in Iran... I am deeply sorry for you.

Oh and by the way, if anyone has any Iranian-made porn movies, can I borrow them? It's gotta be something, if people are going to be executed for making them.

Movie - Four Musketeers.

Posted on June 12, 2007 at 10:02 am.

Saw that one this past Sunday, after seeing Three Musketeers on Saturday. It is pretty much the second part of the same exact film, so whatever I wrote about the first one, applies here.

Movie - Three Musketeers.

Posted on June 12, 2007 at 10:00 am.

This past Saturday I saw Three Musketeers. The old one, from 1973. It was pretty damn good. I've heard bad things about it from Russians, who said that it is much worse than the Russian version, but in fact I found it to be quite enjoyable.

Of course it is not very true to the book, but then again neither is the Russian version, which is also pretty neat to be fair.

Overlord demo.

Posted on June 12, 2007 at 9:37 am.

I downloaded a demo for the yet to be released game Overlord. It is pretty exciting.

You get to command a bunch of "minions" who look like gremlins or goblins of some mind and do evil deeds. Destroy farms and crops, kill sheep, kill halflings and other do-gooders.

There ares some problems with the game, such as consolitis, control issues and dated graphics, but they are overshadowed by the sheer fun of being a Dark Lord.

I'm definitely looking at buying this game once it comes out.
