No more fotki.
Posted on July 16, 2007 at 10:31 am.
If you noticed the absence of the "Photography" button from the right, this is because I closed my fotki.com account and in doing so took all of my pictures offline.
This is too bad, since I had over 6 gigabytes uploaded there, but I really had no choice. Fotki became a really sucky site and my membership had expired, so I had to pay up or leave.
So I left.
If you are interested in the reasons, read this entry.

Russians fine a dude for hating russians.
Posted on July 16, 2007 at 9:24 am.
You know how on every forum in the world there are people who hate America or Americans. They are usually a pretty boring part of the forum-scape so most of us tend to just ignore them.
Now imagine if these people were prosecuted and fined instead of ignored. Then America really would be a pretty nasty place.
Well, I got this article forwarded to me this morning. Unfortunately it is in Russian, but basically it talks about a guy who was taken to court and fined (along with his PC being confiscated) for saying bad things about Russians on some Ukranian forums...
Like my grandmother said this Saturday, "I am so glad that we are out of that shithole once and for all."

World of Warcraft VISA.
Posted on July 15, 2007 at 4:12 pm.
I got a World of Warcraft VISA. :-)
It will serve as my official Nerd Card.
It will help me finance my Legendary Gaming Rig (0% APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers).
It will also earn me a few free months of WoW play, if I ever decide to come back to the game or if I feel generous and decide to sponsor someone else's play.

While I support this operation, I thing they aren't doing enough. They should also accept Korans and Torahs.
Diversity, maaaan!!!

Building a PC.
Posted on July 11, 2007 at 10:40 am.
Selecting the parts for my future computer is hard work as it turns out. I built my current PC about 3 or so years ago and since then I have followed the market only marginally.
It turns out that there are some new names out there, many new products and the ballance has tilted in the nVidia vs. ATI as well as Intel vs. AMD world.
Here is what I learned over the past month and a half:
- Intel rules, AMD drools.
- nVidia rules, ATI drools.
- AMD bought ATI, so thats why they both drool at the same time.
- Asus is no longer the best for motherboards although still not bad.
- XFX and eVGA are pretty awesome for motherboards.
- XFX and eVGA are pretty awesome for videocards.
- To run 8800 GTX in SLI, you need at least 850 Watt PSU.
- Overclocking is pretty much SOP as far as everyone is concerned.
- XFX has double lifetime warranty, which means I get it and if I ever sell my card, the next guy gets it too.

Real use for a Muslim face-rag.
Posted on July 10, 2007 at 10:24 am.
Jolly Old England.
A Muslim woman stands accused of listening to an MP3 player under her ninja-garb. What's the big deal? Well, she was doing it at an inopportune moment. You see, the dumb bitch was a juror in a murder case. Apparently it got boring and she decided to rock-on!
Well, now she'll be rocking on for real. Fun times.
