Movie - Munchhousen.

I recently saw Munchhousen, a 1943 Nazi Germany's answer to Gone With The Wind and The Thief Of Baghdad. It is a pretty good film!

Speaking of WoW.

Posted on January 7, 2008 at 12:11 pm.

Not long after I reached level 70 with my mage character, I found that World of Warcraft was beginning to get boring. Sure there were more instances to visit, and more loot to be had, but I felt like I may have overexerted myself during my push to get to 70.

I played for a few more months our of sheer inertia and then I quit.

That was in March of 2007, I just checked and I even made a post in my blog about it.

Amusingly enough, even with my account canceled, WoW was still a part of my life. I used to check for new fan-made comics fairly regularly. I followed the news about the next expansion in development and I even reviewed the patch notes from time to time.

In August I went to GenCon and got some hands-oh time with the game and even spoke to some of the Blizzard people. Unfortunately I never wrote anything about that conversation because it turned out to be fairly uninteresting.

While off WoW I also tried some other MMORPGs such as Tabula Rasa, which I participated in a beta test of. I also played a lot of non MMO games.

Anyway, about a month ago I came back to WoW. I had enough points on my WoW Visa, to get a few months of free play so I decided why not? Curiously I got this credit card during my non-playing period, which just goes to illustrate that WoW never really went away.

Anyway, since I reestablished my account, I have engaged in PvP heavily and have gotten a bunch of purples out of it. I have also visited a number of instances that I previously never had a chance to go to. Additionally, I did some farming and in doing so acquired some nice enchanting recipes.

Now, 1.5 months later I am feeling burned out again. There is something else too. I am bothered by the fact that once the next expansion comes out, all my gear, all my recipes and everything else I have - will become meaningless and I will have to begin all anew.

And yet... I haven't seen another MMO with as much appeal as WoW. I did play Warhammer Online at GenCon and with enough polish it could become a WoW-killer. This is why I applied to be in the beta test, however, I received no response as of right now.

We'll see.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic has the single worst combat system of all the games I can think of right now.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two Review.

Posted on January 5, 2008 at 12:27 am.

I wrote this review for Real World Gamer a while ago, when the game just came out. Unfortunately it never got published. Today I decided that it has been long enough and that it is pretty unlikely that anyone will ever publish it. So I am posting it here on my site. Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Posted on January 1, 2008 at 11:24 am.

Happy New Year to all my friends and a big frosty fuck-you to all my enemies!

This year two more entities join the shit-list:

1) The fat fucker upstairs who can't sing to save his worthless little life, but yet insists on using his karaoke machine as often as humanly possible including 4 o'clock in the morning.

2) The city of Niles, that likes to test it's anti-air siren at 10 o'clock in the morning on January 1st. Sure, such a siren is a very important thing, because what if Arabs come to bomb us on their wing-flapping, camelshit-powered ragtag desert flyers?! Still, perhaps we could test the loud fucking thing at 5 PM instead?

Fuck Whole Foods.

Posted on December 29, 2007 at 1:04 am.

Whole Foods fired an employee who stopped a shoplifter.

Here is an article.

I sometimes shopped there before, but now I will never set my foot in that store again. I also wrote them a letter saying that.
