Othello.

Posted on February 6, 2008 at 2:36 pm.

I went to see Othello last night at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. It was absolutely fantastic, I loved every moment of it!

I think I will be visiting this theater often from now on!

Muslim students vs. hygiene.

Apparently it is against their religion to wash their hands properly. Who cares if they spread deadly diseases, as long as fucking Allah is happy.

Korea according to my sister - 7.

Posted on February 5, 2008 at 9:57 am.

I got this letter from my sister today:

Brother,

Today, motherfuckers broke into my house, shifted my shit around and installed an air conditioner that I didn't ask for, in this, here, middle of winter. The manager was very rude of the whole thing, as it was her idea, and she called to inform me. Unfortunately, to install this thing, they had to wire some really thick tube out of the window which makes it impossible to close it. I be freezing, man. Also, the air conditioner has to be plugged into an electric socket to work, but the way they installed it makes it just a couple of inches shy of being long enough. The whole thing is so very Korean, it's almost endearing.

Games and rap create gangs.

Posted on February 4, 2008 at 1:00 pm.

Gamepolitics reports the following:

"Officials in Wicomico County, Maryland have blamed violent video games and rap music for what they say is a burgeoning gang problem."

If anyone asked me, I would argue that it is inapt, incompetent, inadequate, stupid and pathetic knaves (otherwise known as officials of Wicomico County, Maryland) that are to blame.

Game #120 - Max Payne 2.

Posted on February 3, 2008 at 1:06 am.

Just finished Max Payne 2. Now it is on my list under number 120.

It was a nice game, I'd say 3.5 out of 5, still I fail to see why some people hold it as one of their favorites. Maybe if I was a fan of graphic novels, or the Noir genre or detective stories, then I would like it better. As a shooter though it is pretty good but not great.

Games of 2008.

Posted on February 1, 2008 at 10:44 am.

There is a forum thread on GameSpot that lists many of the games that are supposed to come put in 2008. I would say that we are in for a treat. There is a lot of really interesting/great looking titles.

A very good selection of various adventure games, quite a few nice RPGs, some sweet RTSs and FPSs. In addition to that there are quite a few really interesting hybrids. (Of course there are other genres as well.)

Many of these games sound so good they make me drool.

Here is the thread, take a look for yourself.

Kim du Toit has an interesting entry in his blog today. It compared an armed robbery in England with the one in the US.

Fox vs. Mass Effect - continued.

Posted on January 28, 2008 at 7:35 pm.

Cooper Lawrence, the so called expert who headed up the anti-gaming side during the Fox News ridiculous take on Mass Effect, was made to see the error of her ways by being given a taste of her own medicine.

She actually apologized, which is definitely a step in the right direction. Here is what she had to say:

"I recognize that I misspoke. I really regret saying that, and now that I've seen the game and seen the sex scenes it's kind of a joke. Before the show I had asked somebody about what they had heard, and they had said it's like pornography. But it's not like pornography. I've seen episodes of Lost that are more sexually explicit."

Here is the New York Times article.

New York City - where retards rule.

Posted on January 28, 2008 at 1:13 pm.

NYC is looking to outlaw all sorts of air testing devices, such as those that detect radiation, asbestos or biological hazards.

Why?

Well, they hope to decrease the potential for false alarms.

My vocabulary fails me as I scramble for words to describe my hatred of these socialist fucks.

Free legal music downloads.

Posted on January 28, 2008 at 9:42 am.

There is an article in the Times (a British newspaper) that talks about a new service that offers music for free. Legally. They also have a library of 25,000,000 songs, which is bigger than iTunes. They also will have things like tour dates, tickets, album covers and artist merchandise among others.

I don't know all the details, but this is something to check out. Could be the big break everyone was waiting for.

Edit: According to this article on Wired, there will be some sort of DRM.

Edit: Ok looks like 3 of the 4 record companies pulled out, according to this article.
