Heroes of the demonstration 2.

Posted on February 23, 2008 at 4:48 pm.

The two useless bitches depicted in the video in the previous entry are surprised at their sudden fame. They don't understand what the big deal is.

"We looted because we are poor, not because we are rich."

That's quite profound don't you think? The kind of a stupid statement that nobody would argue against.

"It was too much to issue a warrant for our arrest—as if we killed someone."

Yea. Nobody should be arrested for stealing. Only murder can be grounds for an arrest.

Heroes of the demonstration.

This video follows two Serb girls as they are looting shops during the unrest. They steal so much stuff they have to carry it in their teeth.

The cameraman, who follows them amidst the sirens from the smashed stores, sarcastically calls them "heroes of the demonstration".

The video also shows a lot of other people of various ages, looting and vandalizing.

So... we all know that Albanians from Kosovo are nothing to be desired. But are these useless scumbags any better?

Quote of the day.

Posted on February 22, 2008 at 11:40 am.

Regarding the recent Serbian riots and the attack on the American embassy:

"It seems some wogs got out of hand and torched buildings on our sovereign soil the other day. Once upon a time this would have been considered casus belli and occasioned parking a dreadnought in the nearest harbor, shelling some buildings, and offloading some marines with Maxim guns to sort the natives out. Instead we'll wring our hands and ask why they don't like us."

Good news.

Tennessee:

A criminal who had a previous conviction for attempted rape (and was a registered sex offender) broke into a house where two sisters lived. He tied them up, but one of them escaped and alerted their cousin who lived nearby.

The cousin then came to the sisters' house and shot the rapist. He had a valid gun license and no criminal record.

No charges were filed.

I like Tennessee. Original article here.

Serbia and Kosovo.

Everyone's talking about that. Personally I don't care. Fuck Serbs who kill Albanians and burn embassies. Fuck Albanian Muslim pukes who kill Serbs.

What a bunch of disgusting people. Maybe it is best if they kill each other off entirely.

Love.

I happened to come across this article at Rock Paper Shotgun. It details a game that is on the works, with a very original and exciting concept.

Imagine a very small scale MMO (where the first "M" may as well be dropped). It is first person and it is exploration based. Players can also change terrain and build things.

Did I mention that it is using a "concept art" look, that is simple beautiful?

If this sounds interesting to you, give the RPS article a quick look. It is short and it has screenshots.

Outsourcing.

Posted on February 21, 2008 at 3:15 pm.

A friend sent this to me. It is hilarious because it is so fucking true!!!

From my experience of outsourcing work to emerging markets:

Chinese:

Me: do X, Y and Z
Them: ok
Me, week later: how goes it?
Them: did you mean X is Z and Y is not?
Me: what?!

Indian:

Me: do X, Y, Z
Them: thank you Sir and have a wonderful day
Me, week later: how goes it?
Them: beautiful
Me: did you finish X?
Them: we are analyzing it

Russian:

Me: do X, Y, Z
Them: why do X, when you can do N?
Me: customer wants it that way
Them: tell the customer he is stupid; here, take N

I hate Evanston.

Posted on February 7, 2008 at 12:08 pm.

Evanston, Illinois, oh how I despise thee.

Did anyone ever notice how shitty social services are an integral part of any socialist shit-hole? See the irony?

Take Evanston for example. That very Evanston that likes to outlaw guns and tax people into oblivion. How does it rate on snow removal for example? With Chicago winter and all, one would think that they had the money to spend on ... oh I don't know, SALT?

Not so! They are using sand instead. Reminds me of 1980s Russia. O, socialism, socialism - you never change!

Also I can't help it but mention the machines they use to remove the snow. Those are some sort of sweepers, which I am sure have a lot of redeeming qualities, except they fail to remove the snow!

Sure they work against the soft fluffy snow, but what about the hard, compressed ice that makes you fall and break your legs? Sweeping doesn't do jack shit about it. Well, it does polish it nicely, but that is counterproductive, no?

Evanston has the highest property taxes in the state. Why can't it remove the snow, fix the roads and put an end to all the crime?

LotRO free trial.

Posted on February 7, 2008 at 11:18 am.

I figured that enough time had passed since beta for this game to change for the better, so last night I signed up for the 7-day free trial.

Since I now have my new computer I was able to completely max out all the settings. What's weird is that I am getting some screen tearing despite turning v-Sync on. I did find some suggestions online so I'll try them when I get home tonight.

Also I noticed that now there is an option to change the scale of the UI. It's a pretty crummy one, because the more you enlarge it, the blurrier it gets. Also the map and the portrait enlarge along with the toolbar. Basically I really wanted this feature, but seeing how poorly it is implemented I decided to not use it.

I only played for a short while so I have no judgment to pass on anything else.
