Movie - Hellboy 2.

Posted on July 17, 2008 at 11:11 pm.

Just came back from seeing Hellboy 2. Surprisingly it was pretty good. I had very low expectations after the first one, but looks like the director (who also did Pan's Labyrinth) has improved significantly since then.

I am actually looking forward to seeing The Hobbit when it comes out. Maybe he'll do a better job that Jackson. We'll see.

Coffee, cops and polygraph tests.

Posted on July 17, 2008 at 10:53 am.

This one cop, Lt. Major Garvin, has been getting free coffee in Starbucks for a number of years. However, once the store came under a new management, he was told to take a hike. So, he though it'd be a swell idea to threaten them with slow police response time, if anything was to happen. He also thought it'd be nice to come in every now and again and try to intimidate the staff.

So, the managers complained, there was an internal police investigation, Garvin was given a polygraph test, failed it and got fired.

Normally I'd just laugh, but this has got me thinking. Ok, I believe something like this could happen. Cops often feel entitled to things, especially if "things" are defined as coffee and donuts.

BUT!

Why was he fired based on a polygraph test? Have these things been scientifically proven to be accurate? Not to the best of my knowledge. Why is it possible to condemn a man based on something that is being used by TV shows to create conflict?

This is bothersome to say the least.

This Durex ad is so good I had to re-post it (thanks Vika). Apparently a bunch of feminists got really pissed off over it. Good times!

Demons fight.

I took this screenshot today and I think it's pretty cool. What happened was I snuck up on a huge demon and enslaved it. Then I made it fight its brother for my own twisted enjoyment! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!

Iran will win, they got photoshop.

Posted on July 10, 2008 at 11:38 am.

Whether you get your news from the web or read an actual newspaper you have probably seen the picture of Iranian rockets being launched. Scary shit, huh?

Well, maybe about 25% less scary than you thought. Apparently the top secret weapon of the Iranian military is Photoshop.

I wonder what that hairy midget Ahmadinejad will have to say for himself now? Knowing his previous antics, it could be anything. Maybe he'll appear in all the newspapers with a giant photoshopped penis. That'll show us!

Black holes are racist.

Posted on July 10, 2008 at 11:22 am.

This is straight out of the Dallas Morning News:

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term.

Why are brain-dead idiots such as that Jones character allowed to become judges? WTF? Ok, perhaps not everyone knows what a white hole is, but surely anyone with half a brain and a GED should know about black holes? Right? Right?

John Ross on Religion.

Posted on July 9, 2008 at 5:21 pm.

This is an article written by John Ross regarding religion in general. You may know Ross as a firearms advocate so naturally you'd assume that he (and most of his audience) are what is called the "religious right."

Well apparently not. I was surprised myself.

Blog and die, infidel!

Iran now has death penalty for online crimes.

In Russia, however, if you blog they merely hand out suspended jail sentences.

I conclude that Russia is better than Iran. See!!! And you all thought that I hate Russia. Ha! I bet you feel real stupid now, don't you?
