Before I only heard this guy's song "Code Monkey" and didn't like it. Recently, however, I learned that it was him who did "Still Alive" at the end of Portal (a PC game) and I became interested.
Take a look at these 3 songs. I think they are pretty cool.
And yes, I realize that you may not like them. And no, I will not make you listen to them if you are in a coma. Fuck you.

I'd like to help these people. Why is there no charity in the US, that would collect money for them?
Actually I know why...
Article: here.
Edit:
There is one organization (not a US one of course) that helps these folks. I don't understand most of their site, but there is an e-mail there. Hmmm...

About 30 days ago in my post about the Supreme Court decision regarding the 2nd Amendment, I said that Chicago, Evanston and Morton Grove will be next.
Last week Wilmette repealed their gun law with a 7 to 0 vote.
Today, Morton Grove's board voted 5 to 1 to repeal it's 27-year old gun ban. It was the oldest such affront in the nation and now it is DEAD.
The knave who voted against the repeal, is one Georgianne Brunner. Here is her picture. If you meet her, don't shake her hand.

As it stands right now, these Chicago area communities: Wilmette, Winnetka, Evanston, Chicago, Oak Park and Morton Grove, have outright handgun bans.
Eight other communities: Highland Park, Deerfield, Northbrook, River Grove, Westmont, Forest Park, Elk Grove Village and Niles, ban the sale or transfer of handguns within their city limits.

Take a look at this Wall Street Journal article. It makes some very interesting points about films, political ideologies, sales and other relevant things.
Come back once you've read it and lets discuss.

Zheleznodorozhnik.
Posted on July 24, 2008 at 9:26 am.
I am unhappy so I am alternating between listening to Windmills of Your Mind by Noel Harrison and Zheleznodorozhnik by Nautilus Pompilius, a Russian band.
Windmills can be found here on YouTube.
Zheleznodorozhnik is not on YouTube. I uploaded an MP3, which you can download here. To be best of my knowledge this is not illegal, because Russian music is not protected under American copyright laws. If you know this to be false, please tell me.
Edit:
It has occurred to me that everyone who reads this can understand Windmills, but only Russian-speakers can understand Zheleznodorozhnik, which by the way stands for Railroad Worker.
Because of this I'm adding an English translation.
The last train to heaven will be leaving at midnight
From a very small station that's covered in snow
The railroad worker will return to his small room
And lay down on his rack, without taking off boots
He'll glance upon somebody's half-faded picture
He'll pour and he'll chase it with but a salty tear
He'll open his window; he'll grab his old shotgun
And he will be knocking down star after star
And the train to heaven is moving yet further
On its moonlight road it's racing along
And the train to heaven takes away from here
All those who may yet be somehow helped
The railroad worker from the craggy pockets
Of his old and worn uniform, is gonna extract
An old crumpled dollar, a spoon made of iron
And a ticket to the train, which has already left
And when in the east the sun will appear
And its rays will exile the depression of night
He'll clean his old shotgun; he'll load in the buckshot
And he'll put the metal to his pained temple
And the train to heaven is moving yet further
On its moonlight road it's racing along
And the train to heaven takes away from here
All those who may yet be somehow helped
Edit 2:
I am also listening to Village of the Doomed from American McGee's Alice and to I Walk Alone by Tarja Turunen.

Ringtones.

For some reason it's always pretty difficult to find a perfect MP3 ringtone. The part of the song you want to hear is rarely at the beginning, while the phone only rings for a few seconds. Also the songs are often too quiet and sometimes you just want the melody, not the words.
My solution is to find a MIDI file. They are always clear and never have any voice in them. They are also usually loud, and if not, you can easily correct this.
The problem is, few phones play MIDI nowadays.
Never fear though. I found this web site, which will convert your MIDI file to MP3 for free. Then, you can cut the resulting file with this nice tool called Audacity. It is cross platform, easy to use and free.
Once you are done cutting your file up, you can export it as an MP3 once again. You'll have to use this encoder called LAME, which is also free. Upload the resulting MP3 to your phone and you are all set.
