WotLK.

I haven't been writing too much over the past few days because I have been playing Wrath of the Lich King, a new World of Warcraft expansion.
Let me tell you, it is awesome!
The environments are spectacular, and it is especially nice since Blizzard realized the error of their ways and went back to the classical fantasy setting, vs. the alien world stuff they had in the previous expansion - the Burning Crusade.
Same goes for the critters.
The quests are the same in theory, but somehow feel nicer and more interesting. Most likely this has to do with the lore, which is back where it belongs - in the world of Azeroth.
I've only done one instance so far, not really interested in those, while leveling. Still it was not all that impressive. Just as much fun as before, but no great breakthroughs.

I bought the game itself at 12:00 AM on Thursday and played for 4 days. Of course I couldn't play the whole time, there were also many real life ... adventures, but I feel that I progressed at a fairly solid rate. My paladin is level 71 now (almost 72) and my Warlock is 73 and a half.
With that said, there apparently exists an Ultra-Mega-Nerd somewhere, who took her Human Warlock to level 80 in 30 hours. Here is her armory profile. Grats, Nymh!
Some people in my guild are also 80, but they played non-stop for stretches of 18 hours and only took 4-hour naps. I can't do that. I mean I can, but don't want to.
Oh and one last thing. My warlock has not replaced a single piece of gear so far. Nothing even comes close to the quality of the epics that I have. This is very refreshing. I am glad all that raiding paid off. I did replace all my gems though.
And I have not tried a Death Knight yet.

David Horowitz.

I just came back from hearing David Horowitz speak at Northwestern University and having a little student get-together with him afterward.
1) He was spectacular. I'd sign my name under everything he said in a heartbeat.
2) Northwestern University students were very orderly and polite. Even those who disagreed with him. I am proud of the civilized behavior that was displayed.

So... Obama - yes, gay rights - no.

I just saw an interesting chart. It listed all the US states in order of their supposed "combined IQ" and colored them blue or red based on whether the total vote went to Obama or McCain. Sure enough, the top of the chart (where all the "smart" people are) was all blue, and the bottom (where all the "retards" are) was all red.
It's good to have such credible sources.
In any event, I have a question. How is it that everyone is so liberal and socially conscious and voted for Obama, but at the same time voted against gay marriage? I am talking about California specifically, but there are other examples.
To say that it was the evil republicans who voted against it would be pretty stupid. The popular vote went to Obama, so we know for a fact that it was same people who voted for him and at the same time against the rights of their gay neighbors.
Anyone?
Well, I'll tell you why this happened. People altogether are not liberal or socially conscious one bit. They actually hate change and will gladly oppress someone given a chance. Why Obama then? Simple! He promised to let them get their greedy hands into the public treasury.
Is it a smart move on the people's part? Sure. Quite cunning in fact.
Do these people have higher IQs? Possible. They know basic math and can see that being able to grab as much as they can is a gain for them.
Are these people the very kind of unwise knaves they pretend they aren't? You bet! They obviously fail to see that everyone helping themselves to the public funds is a net loss in the long run.
Well... this "long run" is such a difficult concept to grasp.

Book - Under the Yoke.

I just finished reading "Under the Yoke" by S. M. Sterling. It's the second book in the Domination trilogy.
Very impressive.

Election is over.

Obama won apparently.
Well, we all knew he was likely to win, we all knew that both him and McCain would be equally terrible for this country, and we all sure as hell got pretty tired, having to suffer through their 4-year-long campaign.
And like I said many, many times before, "Whoever wins, I lose." Now we've got the "change," let's see just how long the "hope" lasts.
So, to reiterate: meh.

I voted.

I don't even like Bob Barr, he's not a true Libertarian. But I voted for him because:
a) He has no chance of winning so I wont have to suffer him.
b) If he was to win I still hate him less than Obama/McCain.
c) I pretty much voted not for him, but against Obama/McCain.
Voting itself was uneventful, however, right outside of the polling place there was a man soliciting votes for the Democrats and handing out fliers. Figures.

I hate our commie government!
Posted on November 3, 2008 at 1:18 pm.

The government just stole $125 from me, and intends to continue stealing it every month!!! Fucking pukes! I wish someone shot them all. Someone other than me though, because jails are run by the same government and suck just as much.
A few days ago my pay got deposited and I noticed that it's about $125 less than last month's. So today I asked about it and it turns out that all of a sudden my tuition benefits are now taxed!
Fuck you, Democrats! Fuck you with a red-hot iron poker, you socialist filth! Die, die, die!!! When I become the Minister of Barbarian Affairs, you will all be publicly impaled, I promise you that!

Fallout 3.
Posted on November 2, 2008 at 9:15 pm.
Thanks to a very generous acquaintance of mine, I came into possession of a sealed copy of Fallout 3.
So far I'm happy with it.
Dialogues are fairly standard for a game of this type (RPG), but the plot is nice. I came across some neat things and I have only played for 10 - 12 hours. Graphics are a tiny bit dated but still cool, and run perfectly on my PC with everything maxed out. Combat is neat. The inventory system is weird though. There's no way clear to distinguish between something useful and an utter piece of junk. I keep getting the sense that some of the things I trash, will be needed later on.
The best part is the quests. There are no "kill 20 rats" or "go give box to Billy-Bob" types of quests. Every quest so far made sense, was interesting and developed further along the way. I'm impressed!
Also people say the game installs SecuROM, which is a fucking outrage if it's true. I haven't tested it myself though, so I don't know.
Also, I was gonna actually register for XBox-LIVE in order to get achievements, but the dumb thing wanted too much private info on me. Oh and it asked me to type in a motto, so I typed "homo homini lupus est" and the program blocked it!!! Told me to select an appropriate motto. How idiotic is that?!
Well, I'm gonna go play now. Nuclear apocalypse FTW!

I like it how people are getting arrested for hanging Obama effigies, but not for hanging Palin's. KILL WHITEY!!!
