Game #125 - Oblivion.

Posted on March 5, 2009 at 9:00 pm.

I beat The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion today! It is my game number 125, and I recorded it in my list accordingly.

Of course this game is enormous and I did not complete every single quest, nor have I seen everything it has to offer. However, I did finish the main storyline (plus some other plot lines, such as the Thieves Guild) and enjoyed it a lot!

I will keep this game installed, and will play more of it in time. Right now I am just happy to report that yet another game is finished! =)

Khaled Toameh.

Posted on March 4, 2009 at 10:48 am.

I went to listen to Khaled Toameh last night. He was speaking at the McCormick Tribune Auditorium in Northwestern.

For those of you who don't know, he is an Israeli Muslim Arab, who worked as a journalist for the past 27 years. First for a PLO newspaper and then for Jerusalem Post as well as a number of international media outlets.

He spoke about Palestine and the peace process and made it very clear that he admires Israel for many things including freedom of the press. He laments the lack of such marks of civilized society in Gaza and the West Bank.

According to him, Israel has NOBODY who can be considered a peace-talks partner on the Palestinian side. Both Hamas and PLO are corrupt and want nothing of peace.

He went describing the corruption of the PLO in Arafat's days, and how the West refused to write about it or to hold the PLO accountable for the money they were given by American and European taxpayers. Nobody wanted to publish anything condemning the Palestinians, instead they all wanted articles describing Israeli "abuses."

In the end, he offered the following suggestion: let Israel and the West sit and do nothing until the moment when the Palestinians unfuck themselves and are ready to speak in one voice and be held accountable for their actions. Let there be not a penny of aid, until the government (be it Hamas or anyone else) is willing to become transparent and lawful.

Of course, he pointed out, that sitting and doing nothing doesn't mean that Israel has to accept rocket barrages or any other transgressions.

The part of his speech that appealed to me the most was when he said, "Talk to anyone who wants to talk to you, and shoot at anyone who shoots." This reflects my personal philosophy as well.

Obama to take our guns.

Posted on February 26, 2009 at 9:16 am.

You know how gun sales went through the roof on the fear of Obama becoming president? Well, now it is very clear as to why that is.

The nasty puke wants to reinstate Clinton's "Assault Weapons" ban. No more semi-automatics, no more real ammo, no more regular sized magazines.

If you want to own one - BUY IT NOW!

Who are these people?

This is a screenshot of the results of a Facebook-ran survey.

Ok, so the 9% are delusional. The 1% are heavily delusional and possibly mentally ill. The 60% are realists.

Who the fuck are the 30% though?!

Oblivion.

I got Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for Valentine's Day. It's a game of the year edition, which includes The Shivering Isles expansion, and the extra content pack The Knights of the Nine.

It's enjoyable, unlike Morrowind, and so far I am pacing along alright.

Chicago Auto Show.

We went to the Auto Show yesterday. It is really uninteresting, essentially just a large dealership where you can't really buy or test-drive anything. One has to be either a car fanatic or an utterly shallow sociopath to enjoy it.

Only in America.

There a rancher in Arizona, whose name is Roger Barnett. His ranch is on the border with Mexico. This means that whenever some asshole wants to commit a crime and cross over to the US, they run through his land, kill his livestock, break into his house and destroy his property.

One day he got fed up with this, and started catching these illegal aliens and turning them over to the border patrol.

Now they are suing him for violation of their civil rights. They are accusing him "of holding the group captive at gunpoint, threatening to turn his dog loose on them and saying he would shoot anyone who tried to escape."

What the fuck?

They should all be sent to Russia. There, they'll be begging and crying for Mr. Barnett for the rest of their lives. Which I figure will last about 10 minutes.

Thief (mayor) Daley steals stimulus.

Posted on February 5, 2009 at 2:04 pm.

This is from Chicago Tribune:

Mayor Richard Daley said today Chicago has compiled a wish list of "shovel-ready projects" to spend federal economic stimulus funds on should Congress approve a plan.

Unlike hundreds of other cities, however, Daley said Chicago won't make its list public.

"Yes, we do, we have our list, we've been talking to people. We did not put that out publicly because once you start putting it out publicly, you know, the newspapers, the media is going to be ripping it apart," Daley said.

"It's very controversial. Yes, we have ready projects from the Board of Education to the City Colleges to the Park District to the CTA and the city of Chicago. Oh yes. Us and New York decided not to do that. We thought we could go directly into the federal bureaucracies and the different departments," the mayor added.

Later, Daley was asked why he wasn't being more transparent.

"Read some of your newspapers. Heh heh," he replied.

I got a Red Drake.

Posted on February 5, 2009 at 1:30 pm.

I haven't posted anything about my World of Warcraft adventures in a while. That's because I took a month or so long break. Right now I am back.

Recently I completed all the Lunar Festival achievements and got the "Elder" title. Also I got my 3rd piece of T7 raid armor and raised my reputation to "exalted" with the Wyrmrest Accord. Now I am flying around on a Red Drake, feeling good about myself.
