Game #130 - Plants vs. Zombies.

Posted on July 21, 2009 at 11:58 pm.

I just beat Plants vs. Zombies, my game number 130. As always I added it to my list of defeated games, which you can find here.

This title is something of a casual one. That means it is suited not only for serious gamers like myself, but also for people who don't usually play games, or play stuff like Peggle, Bejeweled (PvZ is made by the same company) or flash games on the web.

It is also very bright, funny and family friendly, i.e. suited for women, children and other imbeciles.

Basically it's a variation of a tower defense game, where you have an invading army and you defend against it by placing various obstacles. In this case you plant umm... plants to defend against zombies.

There are dozens of different plants and zombies, a over six different settings, loads of mini-games, etc. And, it costs only $7.49 on Steam this week. There is also a demo out on Steam, as well as here.

It is a great game so go and buy it!

Game #129 - Overlord 2.

Posted on July 16, 2009 at 10:04 pm.

I beat Overlord 2, a few minutes ago. It is my game number 129 and is recorded as such in my list.

/sigh

I really hoped it would be good. I liked the first one and was waiting for this one to come out. Unfortunately I was disappointed. It's not terrible, but it is borderline between weak and mediocre. Sad. It could have been excellent.

Estonia. Hmm...

Posted on July 16, 2009 at 1:04 pm.

I was just reading up on Estonia... Wow! I need to start taking lessons to learn the language. That place sounds like it is cut out for me.

1) Flat rate of income tax (18%)
2) Non-welfare-state model
3) Perfect climate
4) Ranked above-average in democracy, press freedom, privacy, and human development
5) Almost non-existent public debt
6) 77% atheist
7) Recognition for its economic freedom, adaptation of new technologies, one of the world's fastest growing economies for several years

By the way this was prompted by all the talk of the nationalized health care, tax-rape, etc.

No surprise here.

Yet another Russian human rights activist murdered.

"Ms Estemirova, a single mother in her 40s, had worked in the past with the activists Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot dead in 2006, and Stanislav Markelov, who was killed in January this year."

Guess she was next on the list.

0.5 inch group.

Posted on July 12, 2009 at 10:44 pm.

In this post I said I was hoping to be able to shoot 1.5 inch groups once I make some adjustments to my rifle.

I am happy to report that once all the changes were made, I was able to consistently hold 0.5 inch groups.

Woot!

Obama and ass.

Posted on July 10, 2009 at 11:17 am.

From the tone of this blog over the years, you can easily conclude than I'm not a fan of Obama. This time, however, I'm on his side. If you can't check out a piece of ass, then what the hell is the point of being a man?

Yet another drunk Russian president.

Personally I blame the Jews and the masons.

Well... either that or Putin let some kids play with his puppet.

Update: Yara is brilliant! Here is Medvedev's theme song, according to her:
The Boy Who Wanted to be a Real Puppet

Book - Doofus.

Posted on July 3, 2009 at 3:44 pm.

Just finished reading "Doofus" by Sergei Lukyanenko.

As many times before, I am amazed by the fact that I like him as a writer, and yet at the same time can't stand him as a person.
