I just finished the last book of the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski. It is called Lady of the Lake.

Yea, I'm a loser!
One thing I'm now wondering is if Geralt died at the end, how is he now back? The game (The Witcher) takes place after Lady of the Lake and he is back, although he'd lost his memory. For the second game, however, he is going to regain it, so maybe then it will be explained.

It's not NECESSARILY his afterlife that he experiences when he is alone with Yennifer, in the end, and Tsiri is gone. I mean, he's still in pain. It could be that Yennifer spent all her power/energy patching him up just enough for him to survive, and they are in some sort of a place where she apparated them. It's like the island on Lost: could be a limbo, could be the afterlife, could be just a friggin island.
